Gordon Guillaumier’s new armchair Dafne elegantly pays homage to the great masters of Modernism, reinterpreting their spirit in a contemporary form that is both minimalist and sophisticated. The generously upholstered upper section appears almost suspended as it rests confidently on the cast aluminium star-shaped base, striking a balance between visual lightness and structural solidity. Additionally, the swiveling and reclining mechanism provides further comfort to the design. The design, rigorous and precise, is softened by the cushions on the backrest, armrests and seat: elements with linear geometries that find a new softness in their rounded corners. The slightly curled edges, together with the precise integration of the vertical elements into the seat, define a discreet yet recognisable aesthetic signature, where detail is never mere ornamentation, but function that becomes style. The generous, inviting proportions convey a sense of intimate, personal comfort, designed to accompany everyday relaxation with ease. An elegant, understated presence, capable of fitting effortlessly into both domestic and contract settings.
