Frigerio continues its exploration of historic Italian architecture for its new 2027 advertising campaign: places of cultural significance chosen as backdrops in which contemporary design interacts with space, light and the landscape. Following Pier Luigi Nervi’s Chianciano Thermal Baths, Oscar Niemeyer’s Burgo Paper Mills, Adalberto Libera’s Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome’s EUR district and Zaha Hadid’s Salerno Maritime Station, the new images, photographed by Gionata Xerra, take shape within the Colonia Stella Maris in Montesilvano (Pescara), a building overlooking the Adriatic with a strong geometric identity. An interplay of lines, solids and voids that finds a natural counterpart in the geometries of Frigerio’s furniture. In the first image, the soft, sinuous forms of Gordon Guillaumier’s curvilinear ‘Dao Soft’ sofa; the second image interprets the space through a more linear composition: the ‘Felix’ sofa by Calvi Brambilla. A place suspended between rationality and Mediterranean charm, where the presence of the sea filters into the interiors through the light, transforming the space into a suspended landscape – almost abstract and devoid of fixed coordinates – and, precisely for this reason, capable of being imagined elsewhere: in different places and cultures, right down to the most intimate dimension of one’s own home. A narrative in which memory and modernity, rigour and comfort, material and light coexist to express a vision of Italian living.
